Install GNOME 3 On Ubuntu 10.10 “Maverick Meerkat”

The GNOME Project is an international community which comes together to make great software. GNOME software is Free Software: all our work is free to use, modify and redistribute. Everyone is welcome to participate in its development.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-desktop/gnome3-builds
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gnome3-session

Please note that the ppa is outdated but still working. When GNOME 3 is installed log out and change to GNOME session (bottom panel) and log back in again.
