Install LibreOffice Release Candidate 2 Using PPA On Ubuntu 10.10 “Maverick Meerkat”

Here is a guide to install LibreOffice using a PPA. Please note that LibreOffice is still under development (release candidate 2) and it might break your system. Before installing LibreOffice you first need to remove OpenOffice.





To remove OpenOffice open a Terminal window (Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal) and copy+paste the following line:

sudo apt-get purge openoffice*.*

To install LibreOffice on Ubuntu 10.10 and 10.04 copy+paste the following lines:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libreoffice
sudo apt-get install libreoffice-gnome

When installed you can find LibreOffice under Applications -> Office
