Here is a guide to update your nvidia driver to the latest version (260.19.29). To install the latest driver open a Terminal window (Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal) and copy+paste the following lines:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install nvidia-current nvidia-current-modaliases nvidia-settings
When installad go to System -> Administration -> Additional Drivers and activate the current Nvidia driver (if needed) then reboot your system.
Works for me. Thanks!
Has anyone managed to figure out the blanking/flickering bug yet?
don’t have any problems with the driver … no bugs at all
You would hope so.. but there are bugs in there, LOTS of bugs!! get the spray oot!
Thanks but I am curious, have the NVidia drivers been updated again? I followed the directions above but after I reboot the system Nvidia Settings show the driver version as 270.18.
Yep it seems like they have been updated. Just did a check at what version i’m having and it says: 270.18
Hi, my workstation has been upgraded auto-magically to version 270.18, and I’m facing issues with this new version. How can I downgrade to 260.19.29 ?
Thanks,
You can try to take a look at the additional drivers to see if an older driver version is still available and select that one.
