How To Install Kazam Screencaster Using PPA On Ubuntu 13.04

Here is a guide to install Kazam Screencaster On Ubuntu 13.04. You can install Kazam using the Kazam stable builds maintaned by the Kazam Team.


A screencasting program created with design in mind. Kazam is a simple screen recording program that will capture the content of your screen and record a video file that can be played by any video player that supports VP8/WebM video format. Kazam provides a well designed and easy to use interface for capturing screencasts and screenshots. It can record desktop video and multiple audio streams simultaneously with control over audio levels and the screen region being captured. Support for H264 and VP8 codecs is built in. To add the PPA and install Kazam Screencaster open a terminal window (press Ctrl+Alt+T) and copy+paste the following lines:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kazam-team/stable-series -y
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install kazam -y

When the installation is finished you can close the terminal window and to start Kazam press the SuperKey and type: kazam
