How To Install Liferea (Linux Feed Reader) On Ubuntu 12.04

Liferea (Linux Feed Reader) is an aggregator for online news feeds. There are many other news readers available, but these others are not available for Linux or require many extra libraries to be installed. Liferea tries to fill this gap by creating a fast, easy to use, easy to install news aggregator for Gtk/Gnome.

To install Liferea open your Ubuntu Software Center (press the SuperKey and type: software-center) and search for liferea. Select the search result and click on the Install button. To start Liferea press Alt+F2 and type: liferea

To import a feed list click on Subscriptions (top panel) and select Import Feed List. Go to the location of the list and select it. When selected click on the Import button and wait until the list is imported.

To add feeds click on Subscriptions and select New Subscription then paste the url of the rss page into the source field and click on the OK button. You can also add feeds by clicking on the New Subscription button.
