How To Install The Faenza And/Or Faience Icon Theme Using PPA On Ubuntu 12.10

The Faenza and Faience icon themes are my favourite icon themes to use on Ubuntu. You can install them using the tiheum/equinox PPA from Matthieu James. To change the icon theme you can use Ubuntu Tweak, if you haven’t installed Ubuntu Tweak read this post.



Before you can install the icon themes you first need to add the PPA. To do this open a terminal window (press Ctrl+Alt+T) and copy+paste the following line:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:tiheum/equinox
sudo apt-get update


When the PPA is added you can install the icon themes.

Faenza Icon Theme by Tiheum.
For the Faenza icon theme copy+paste the following line:

sudo apt-get install faenza-icon-theme


Faience Icon Theme by Tiheum
For the Faience icon theme copy+paste the followining line:

sudo apt-get install faience-icon-theme


To change your icon theme using Ubuntu Tweak follow these steps:

Press the SuperKey and type: ubuntu tweak
Select Tweaks
Select Theme
Select Icon Theme
Select the Faenza or Faience icon theme

When you have selected the icon theme you like close Ubuntu Tweak and enjoy the lovely icons!!
