How To Install The Faenza And/Or Faience Icons On Ubuntu 13.04

Here is a guide to install the Faenza and/or the Faience icons on Ubuntu 13.04. You can install the icons using the equinox PPA maintaned by Matthieu James.

To add the PPA and install the icons open a terminal window (press Ctrl+Alt+T) and copy+paste the following lines:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:tiheum/equinox -y
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install faenza-icon-theme faience-icon-theme -y

When the installation is finished you can close the terminal window and to set the icons as default icons you can use Ubuntu Tweak. Don’t have Ubuntu Tweak installed? Read this article to install Ubuntu Tweak.


To change your icon theme using Ubuntu Tweak follow these steps:

Press the SuperKey and type: ubuntu tweak
Select Tweaks
Select Theme
Select Icon Theme
Select the Faenza or Faience icon theme

When you have selected the icon theme you like close Ubuntu Tweak and enjoy the lovely icons!!
