To install software using the Ubuntu Software Center i started to use the apt: command in my articles. I did this because it makes it easier to install the program mentioned in my articles.
If you don’t know how to open the apt links.. here is a guide that shows you how to open them. In the guide i install Chromium BSU to show you how it works.
Chromium is a top down fast paced high action scrolling space shooter. In this game you are the captain of the cargo ship Chromium B.S.U. and are responsible for delivering supplies to the troops on the front line. Your ship has a small fleet of robotic fighters which you control from the relative safety of the Chromium vessel.
When you click on the install link you will get a message that tells you that the link needs to be opened with an application. This application is the Ubuntu Software Center, to set the software center as the default application follow these steps:
Click on the Choose button
Click on File System
Open the usr folder
Open the bin folder
Click on the Open button
Click on Remember my choice for apt links
Click on the OK button
That’s all there is to do to open the apt link using the Ubuntu Software Center.
