Here is a guide that shows you how to install CreBS (Create Background Slideshow) on Ubuntu 11.04. You can install a stable version of CreBS using the CreBS team ppa.
To install CreBS open a terminal window (press Alt+F2 and type: gnome-terminal) and copy+paste the following lines:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:crebs/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install crebs
There are two ways to create a background slideshow:
Press Alt+F2 and type: crebs
click on the + button,
browse to the folder that contains the images
select the images.
Click on the Open button
Enter a name for your background slide show
Click on save button and your slideshow will be saved and set as the desktop background.
Or create one the easy way:
Open the folder containing the images
Select the images
Click with your right mouse button on one off the selected images
Select Open With -> Create Background Slideshow
Enter a name for your background slide show
Click on save button and your slideshow will be saved and set as the desktop background.
I like this program, I created a slide show from my camping trip. Really nice, recommend to anyone who like to keep the desktop wallpaper different all the time, If I didn’t have my kids and the wife walking by I would get some sexy looking girls and create me a nice slide show.
