Install Guide: Turpial Twitter Client On Ubuntu 11.10

Here is a guide to install Turpial a lightweight and easy to use Twitter client. Turpial is written in Python and aims to be an application with low consumption of resources and integrate the user’s desktop without sacrificing any functionality.




The packages to install Turpial haven’t been added to the stable Turpial PPA but you can install Turpial using the Turpial development PPA. To install Turpial open a terminal window (press SuperKey and type: terminal) and copy+paste the following lines:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:effie-jayx/turpial-devel
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install turpial

To start Turpial press SuperKey and type: turpial. Once started enter your Twitter user name and password and click on the Connect button. Then allow Turpial to connect to your Twitter account and enter the given pin number in the text box. Click on the OK button and wait for Turpial to finish loading your tweets… enjoy your tweets!!
