How To Install The Pushbullet Indicator On Ubuntu 14.10

Pushbullet bridges the gap between your phone, tablet, and computer, enabling them to work better together.

From seeing your phone’s notifications on your computer, to easily transferring links, files, and more between devices, Pushbullet saves you time by making what used to be difficult or impossible, easy. The Pushbullet Indicator supports sending notes, links, files, lists and addresses from your desktop to your Android or iOS device. Pushbullet can also be used via Chrome, Firefox and Opera extensions and for Windows there is a desktop app (this is still a beta version).

To use Pushbullet you need to sign in with your Google account (or make a new one if you don’t have one yet). This will allow you to store and open the items you’ve pushed, as well as configure your settings to fit your usage. Go to the Pushbullet website and sign in.

You can install the Pushbullet indicator using the “atareao-team” PPA. To add the PPA and install the Pushbullet indicator open a terminal window (press Ctrl+Alt+T) and copy+paste the following lines:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:atareao/atareao -y

sudo apt update && sudo apt install pushbullet-indicator -y

After the installation you can close the terminal window, to start the Pushbullet indicator press the SuperKey and type: pushbullet

You can also install the android app but i have no other devices connected to the gmail account used for the video, that’s why i didn’t download the android app.
