Install Savage 2: A Tortured Soul On Ubuntu 10.10 “Maverick Meerkat”

Savage 2: A Tortured Soul is a fantasy and science-fiction themed video game that combines elements of the first-person shooter, real-time strategy, and action role-playing game genres. It is developed and published by S2 Games.

Savage 2 combines RTS, FPS and RPG aspects into its gameplay. The game is played with 2 teams (the Legion of Man and the Beast Horde) fighting against each other on a large playing field in an attempt to eventually destroy the durable command center of the enemy team, thereby winning the game. First you need to download the Savage 2 installer from this page. When downloaded go to the folder where you saved the Savage2Install-2.1.0-i686.bin file and click with your right mouse button on the file. Now select Properties, click on the Permissions tab and mark Allow executing file as program. Now click on the Close button and open a terminal window and copy+paste the following line:


Now follow the on screen instructions and wait while Savage 2 is being installed. When installed you can find Savage 2 under Applications -> Games -> Savage 2.
