To install Xnoise open a terminal window (press Alt+F2 and type: gnome-terminal) and copy+paste thefollowing lines:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:shkn/xnoise
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install xnoise
To start Xnoise press Alt+F2 and type: xnoise
