Mixxx is free, open source DJ software that gives you everything you need to perform live mixes. They released a new stable release (Mixxx 1.9.2) and a new beta version (Mixxx 1.10.). You can install the stable version and the beta version using a ppa or you can install and older version (Mixxx 1.9.1) from the Ubuntu Software Center.
To install Mixxx 1.9.2 open a terminal window (press SuperKey and type: terminal) and copy+paste the following lines:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mixxx/mixxx
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install mixxx
To install Mixxx 1.10.0 Beta open a terminal window (press SuperKey and type: terminal) and copy+paste the following lines:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mixxx/mixxxbetas
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install mixxx
To start Mixxx press the SuperKey and type: mixxx
To install an older version of Mixxx (version 1.9.1) from the Ubuntu Software Center, open the software center (press the SuperKey and type: software center). Type: mixxx in the search field and select the search result. Click on the More info button if you want to read a short description about Mixxx or some reviews. To install Mixxx click on the Install button, enter you password and click on the Authenticate button. When Mixxx is installed close your software center and to start Mixxx press the SuperKey and type: mixxx
