How to install Feedindicator On Ubuntu 11.10

The Feeindicator is an nice indicator that will notify you when new RSS feed are availlable. It well be shown in the indicator area on the top panel. When a new feed is available the icon will turn orange and a notification will be shown on your screen.




Download the Feedindicator .deb file here. When downloaded open a terminal window and copy+paste the following line:

sudo dpkg -i ~/Downloads/feedindicator_1.03-1_all.deb

When the feedindicator is installed you can close the terminal window and to start the feedindicator press the SuperKey and type: feedindicator

When the feedindicator is started an rss icon will appear int the indicator area in the top panel. To configure it or add RRS feeds click with your right mouse button on the RSS icon and select Configure Feedindicator. To add a new RSS feed click on the Add New button and enter the url. When the url is added press the Enter button and click on the Save button to refresh your RSS feeds. To start the Feedindicator when you log in all you have to do is to enable the Run at startup option.
