Installing the community themes on Ubuntu 9.10 and Ubuntu 9.04 is different then installing the themes on Ubuntu 10.04. Ubuntu 9.10 “Karmic Koala” and Ubuntu 9.04 “Jaunty Jackalope” users need to install the latest murrine engine before installing these themes.
How to install Artwork Team community-themes Ubuntu 9.10 “karmic Koala”
For Ubuntu 9.10 “Karmic Koala”
First you need to add this PPA , open a Terminal window (Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal) and copy+paste the following line:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:suraia/ppa
To update the source list and install the latest murrine engine open a Terminal window (Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal) and copy+paste the following lines:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gtk2-engines-murrine
If you have an already installed version of murrine engine, copy+paste the following lines to update it:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
For Ubuntu 9.04 “Jaunty Jackalope”
Goto System -> Administration -> Software Sources, select the Third-Party Software tab and Click ADD. Copy+paste the following line:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/suraia/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main
Click on the Add Source button then Close followed by the Reload button. To install the latest murrine engine open a Terminal window (Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal) and copy+paste the following lines:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gtk2-engines-murrine
If you have an already installed version of murrine engine, copy+paste the following lines to update it:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
