Install Beatbox On Ubuntu 11.04 “Natty Narwhal”

BeatBox music player is the default music player from Elementary OS. Its a lightweight music player developed by Scott Ringwelski and is still under development.




BeatBox requires libsqlheavy0.1-0 to install it copy+paste the following line in your terminal window:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:elementaryart/elementarydesktop

Please note that when adding the ppa nautilus will be upgraded to nautilus-elementary. If you don’t want this you can download the package from the Elementary packages list on launchpad.

To install Beatbox copy+paste the following lines:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:sgringwe/beatbox
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install beatbox

To start BeatBox press Alt+F2 and type: beatbox
