Install Calibre E-Book Manager Ubuntu 9.10 “Karmic Koala”

calibre is an e-book library manager. It can view, convert and catalog e-books in most of the major e-book formats. It can also talk to a few e-book reader devices. It can go out to the internet and fetch metadata for your books. It can download newspapers and convert them into e-books for convenient reading. It is cross platform, running on Linux, Windows and OS X.

At the moment Calibre has full support for the SONY PRS 300/500/505/600/700/900, Barnes & Noble Nook, Cybook Gen 3/Opus, Amazon Kindle 1/2/DX, Longshine ShineBook, Ectaco Jetbook, BeBook/BeBook Mini, Irex Illiad/DR1000, Foxit eSlick, PocketBook 360, Italica, eClicto, Iriver Story, Airis dBook, Hanvon N515, Binatone Readme, Teclast K3, various Android phones and the iPhone.
It can go out to the internet and fetch metadata for your books. It can download newspapers and RSS feeds and convert them into E-Books for convenient reading.

Calibre can be installed from the Ubuntu Software Center, to do this go to Applications -> Ubuntu Software Center, at the search field type: calibre. Then select Calibre and click on the arrow. Now scroll down untill you see the Install button and click on the Install button. Fill in your password and Calibre will be insstalled on your system. When Installed you can find Calibre under Applications -> Office -> calibre.
