Install Extra Screen Savers On Ubuntu 11.04 “Natty Narwhal”

These packages contain the rest of the 2D screen saver modules from the xscreensaver collection and the package that ships the hack BSOD that shows the popular Blue Screens of Death from several OSes including BSD, Windows, Linux, Solaris, Apple and much more.. These packages are used by both xscreensaver and gnome-screensaver.


WARNING: This screensaver could be confused with a real BSOD and could lead an user to reboot the machine with consequences like data loss…. 🙂

To install the extra screen savers open a Terminal window (press Alt+F2 then type: gnome-terminal) and copy+paste the following lines:

sudo apt-get install xscreensaver-data-extra xscreensaver-screensaver-bsod

This is the set of non-GL screensavers not shipped by default:
