Install gPodder 2.15 On Ubuntu 11.04 “Natty Narwhal”

gPodder is a Podcast receiver/catcher written in Python and pyGTK. gPodder project manages podcast feeds for you, and automatically downloads all podcasts from as many feeds as you like. If you are interested in Podcast feeds, simply put the feed URLs into gPodder and it will download all episodes for you automatically.

To install gPodder open a terminal window (press Alt+F2 and type: gnome-terminal) and copy+paste the following lines:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:thp/gpodder
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gpodder


You can also install gPodder from the Ubuntu Software Center but it’s an older version (2.14-1). Open your software center by pressing Alt+F2 and type: software-center. Search for gpodder, select the search result and click on the Install button.

To start gPodder press Alt+F2 and type: gpodder

Worth noting:
– If you have previously installed gPodder from the Ubuntu Software Center and add the gPodder repository using the instructions above, you will see the update available to update your existing installation to 2.15, saving you the work of removing 2.14 and reinstalling from the gPodder repository.
