How To Install Gmusicbrowser Using PPA On Ubuntu 11.10

gmusicbrower is a powerful graphic browser which supports libraries with a great number of songs (>10,000). It can use multiple inputs and plays MP3, OGG and flac files; it also supports mass-renaming and mass-retagging of a song library, multiple genres per song, ratings and customizable labels .The window layout is also customizable and it ships natively plugins to use last.fm, retrieve lyrics, find album pictures and WebContext which, through the mozilla/webkit engine will display the wikipedia artist’s page and search lyrics with google. To install gmusicbrowser you need to add the gmusicbrowser-daily PPA.



To add the PPA and install gmusicbrowser open a terminal window (press Ctrl+Alt+T) and copy+paste the following lines:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:andreas-boettger/gmusicbrowser-daily
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gmusicbrowser

When installed you can close the terminal window and to start gmusicbrowser press the SuperKey and type: gmusicbrowser

gmusicbrowser is an open-source jukebox for large collections of mp3/ogg/flac/mpc/ape files, written in perl.

If you don’t like to use a PPA you can install an older version from the Ubuntu Software Center.

Any idea how to add Gmusicbrowser to the Soundmenu in Ubuntu 11.10?
