The new and upcoming release of Ubuntu 10.04 Karmic will support the Apple IPhone and IPod Touch. No jailbreaking needed, no patching, no nothing. With the latest Alpha 3 release it is possible to just plug in the USB of the Apple IPhone or IPod Touch and browse the files on your device with the Nautilus file manager. The best feature however is that Rythmbox is able to play your tunes directly from your Apple Iphone or Ipod.
All we wish for now is an linux version of ITunes and hope Apple will not work against this feature.
