Here is a guide to install the Linux Deepin software center on Ubuntu 11.10. The Linux Deepin software center is a nice and slick replacement for the Ubuntu software center. It’s the default software center for Linux Deepin, a chinese fork of Ubuntu. You can install the Linux Deepin software center in a few simple steps.
Before you can use the Linux deepin software center you need to install the aria2 download manager and you need to download the Linux Deepin software center.
To install aria2 open a terminal window (press Ctrl+Alt+T) and copy+paste the following line:
sudo apt-get install aria2
When aria2 is installed change into the Download folder with the following command:
cd ~/Downloads/
Now you need to download the source package:
wget https://github.com/manateelazycat/deepin-software-center/zipball/master
When downloaded extract the content and move the folder to your Documents folder using the following command:
unzip master
mv manateelazycat-deepin-software-center-9438fb7/ ~/Documents/
When you’re finished you can close the terminal window.
To start the Linux Deepin software center open the Documents -> manateelazycat-deepin-software-center-9438fb7 folders and open on the file named: main
